Product overview

The MDR-ZX310AP is part of Sony's long-running ZX series of budget wired headphones. It uses an on-ear, closed-back style design with an adjustable headband and a folding form that suits commuting or desk use. The AP variant includes an in-line microphone and call control, making it more useful for phones and laptops than the mic-less versions in the same family.

Because it is wired, there is no battery to manage and no Bluetooth pairing to worry about. The trade-off is cable clutter and dependence on a device that still has a compatible 3.5mm connection or an adapter.

Reasons to consider

• The advertised ₹899 price is low for a branded Sony headset with a microphone.
• Wired operation is simple: plug in and use, with no charging or pairing steps.
• The folding, lightweight format is practical for travel and everyday carry.
• The in-line mic and call button add convenience for calls, classes and meetings.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Budget-friendly advertised price
• Recognisable Sony budget-audio model
• Wired connection avoids latency and battery issues
• In-line microphone for calls
• Compact folding design

Cons

• Live Amazon pricing could not be verified during this check
• No wireless connectivity
• No active noise cancellation
• On-ear fit may be less comfortable during long sessions than over-ear designs

Buyer fit

This makes most sense for buyers who want a simple, inexpensive wired headset for calls, online classes, travel or everyday listening. It is also a reasonable spare headset to keep in a bag or at a desk. Buyers who need Bluetooth, stronger bass tuning, premium build quality or long-session comfort should look higher up the range.

Final verdict

At an advertised ₹899, the Sony MDR-ZX310AP is a plausible budget buy for basic wired listening and calls. The discount versus the listed MRP is substantial, but the live Amazon price could not be confirmed during this check. Check the current price, seller name, colour and delivery terms on Amazon before paying, and treat it as a good deal only if the checkout total stays close to the advertised figure.
