Product overview

The SRS-XB100 is Sony's smallest entry in its Extra Bass speaker line — a lightweight, grab-and-go unit designed to hang from a backpack, wrist or branch via its multiway strap. It uses a downward-facing driver, charges over USB-C, shows remaining battery on a connected smartphone, and supports pairing two units for stereo sound. The body and strap incorporate recycled plastic, and the packaging is plastic-free.

Reasons to consider

• IP67 rating makes it genuinely safe around pools, beaches and dust — uncommon at this size.
• Up to 16 hours of battery life covers a full day out.
• At an advertised ₹2,489, it sits well below its typical MRP for a Sony-branded waterproof speaker.
• Hands-free calling and stereo pairing add flexibility beyond basic music playback.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Very compact and light with a useful carry strap
• IP67 water and dust resistance
• USB-C charging and long battery life
• Stereo pairing option with a second XB100

Cons

• Advertised ₹2,489 price could not be confirmed on the live Amazon page at check time
• Single small driver — fine for casual listening, not a room-filling party speaker
• No aux input; Bluetooth only

Buyer fit

This suits commuters, travellers and anyone wanting a durable personal speaker for outdoor or desk use. If you need louder output, deeper bass or multi-room features, look at larger models like the SRS-XB23 or higher.

Final verdict

A strong advertised price for a capable, well-reviewed compact speaker from a reputable brand. Worth buying if the Amazon listing shows a price at or near ₹2,489 when you check — but confirm the live price and seller before checkout, since the discount is advertised rather than independently verified.
