Reasons to consider

• ₹1,989 is a very low entry price for a wireless lavalier kit with gain control and monitoring
• In stock and fulfilled by Amazon, so delivery and returns are straightforward
• 6-hour battery with charge-while-use suits outdoor shoots and long interviews
• Compact 26 g transmitter is easy to clip on and carry

Pros and cons

Pros

• Confirmed ₹1,989 selling price on Amazon India
• Mic gain, mute button and monitoring are features often missing at this price
• Wide device compatibility via 3.5 mm

Cons

• The 88% figure is against an MRP that may not reflect typical street pricing
• 2.4 GHz link can drop when obstructed — 50 m is a best-case figure
• Phones without a 3.5 mm jack need a separate adapter

Buyer fit

A sensible buy for budget-conscious creators — vloggers, interviewers, teachers recording video — who need a simple wireless mic and have a 3.5 mm input (or an adapter). Buyers needing dual-channel audio, USB-C digital output or guaranteed long-range reliability should look higher up the range.

Final verdict

At ₹1,989 with the price confirmed on Amazon's own product page and the item in stock, the MAONO WM820 is good value for an entry-level wireless collar mic. Treat the 88% MRP discount as marketing framing rather than a real-world comparison, but the actual price is low enough to recommend for casual recording needs.
