ASUS Chromebook CM1405 (14" FHD, 4GB/64GB) at ₹17,990 on Amazon — ₹1,500 SBI Card Discount Advertised

At a glance

The ASUS Chromebook CM1405 (2026) — a thin-and-light 14-inch Chromebook in Pure Grey — is currently listed at ₹17,990 on Amazon India, confirmed by the merchant's buy-box price, sold by Clicktech Retail Private Ltd and shipped by Amazon. A further ₹1,500 discount with an SBI credit card is advertised, which would bring the effective price to ₹16,490, but we could not confirm that bank offer on the page we read — treat it as an advertised price, not a confirmed one.

Product overview

This is ASUS's entry-level Chromebook for 2026, built around Chrome OS and the MediaTek Kompanio 540 chip. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration suits web browsing, streaming, documents and Android apps rather than heavy multitasking or local file storage. At 1.37 kg it is genuinely portable for a 14-inch machine, and the FHD 60Hz panel is a reasonable spec at this price point.

Reasons to consider

• The confirmed ₹17,990 price is the lowest we have seen this model listed at recently — earlier listings we tracked showed ₹19,990 and ₹20,990.
• Ships from Amazon with the seller Clicktech Retail Private Ltd, so delivery and returns follow Amazon's standard process.
• Chrome OS keeps maintenance light for students and casual users.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Lightweight 1.37 kg build with a 14-inch FHD screen
• Confirmed in-stock price below recent historical listings
• Simple, low-maintenance Chrome OS experience

Cons

• 4GB RAM and 64GB storage are limiting for anything beyond basics
• The advertised ₹1,500 SBI credit card discount is not confirmed on the page we read
• No MRP shown on the merchant page, so an official discount percentage cannot be computed

Buyer fit

Best for students and home users who live in the browser, use Google Workspace or Android apps, and want the cheapest workable laptop. Skip it if you need Windows software, more than 4GB RAM, or meaningful onboard storage.

Final verdict

Worth considering if you need a basic Chromebook now — ₹17,990 is a fair confirmed price for this spec. If you hold an SBI credit card, check the offer section at checkout before paying; the advertised ₹16,490 effective price only holds if that card discount actually applies to your order.
