Product overview
The LG FHD0905SWM Smart Choice is an all-in-one washer dryer combo designed to eliminate the need for separate washing and drying appliances. Featuring a 9 kg washing capacity paired with a 5 kg condensation drying capacity, this front loader is built for medium-to-large households.
At the core of the unit is LG's Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD) motor. Unlike traditional belt-driven drums, AI DD senses the load weight and fabric softness automatically, adjusting drum motion patterns to minimize fabric wear and tear. It also integrates LG's Steam and Allergy Care programs, which help sanitize laundry by eliminating allergens and bacteria, alongside a TurboWash 59 cycle for quick loads. Wi-Fi connectivity via the LG ThinQ app allows users to trigger cycles remotely, download additional wash profiles, and run basic diagnostics.
Why consider it
- Space-Saving 2-in-1 Design: Combines high-capacity washing and complete drying in a single footprint, ideal for apartments or homes lacking drying balconies.
- AI Fabric Protection: Automatic fabric-softness detection adjusts tumble patterns, protecting delicate clothes from excessive friction.
- Steam & Hygiene Cycles: Allergy Care and Baby Steam cycles provide high-temperature sanitisation for sensitive skin and infant wear.
- High Advertised Discount: If the ₹1,500 coupon and ₹9,000 HDFC card offers apply at checkout, the net effective price represents significant savings against its ₹68,990 MRP.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 9 kg wash and 5 kg full drying capability | Drying capacity is limited to 5 kg per cycle |
| Inverter AI Direct Drive motor with 1200 RPM | Full wash-plus-dry cycle takes longer than standard washing |
| Stainless steel drum and lifters for hygiene | Deep discount depends strictly on HDFC credit card eligibility |
| Wi-Fi enabled with LG ThinQ app controls | Selling price requires cart validation on Amazon |
Who should buy it
This combo is best suited for medium to large families residing in apartments with limited outdoor drying space, or those living in humid and rainy regions where air drying is unreliable. Shoppers holding an active HDFC Bank credit card who can apply both the checkout coupon and card promotion stand to get strong value. However, households that regularly wash and dry very heavy laundry loads exceeding 5 kg simultaneously may prefer separate standalone dryer units.
Final verdict
At the advertised effective price of ₹44,490, the LG FHD0905SWM represents compelling value for a modern AI Direct Drive washer-dryer combo. Because Amazon did not confirm the net price directly on the product landing page, buyers should add the machine to cart and ensure both the ₹1,500 on-page coupon and ₹9,000 HDFC card instant discount reflect before paying.
