At a glance

A deal alert is advertising the JBL Commercial CSSG20 wired shotgun condenser microphone at ₹1,848 on Amazon India, described as an 82% discount. Treat the ₹1,848 figure as advertised, not confirmed.

Quick facts

Product overview

The JBL Commercial CSSG20 is a wired shotgun-style condenser microphone designed to mount on a camera or connect to a smartphone. Shotgun mics use a directional pickup pattern to favour audio in front of the capsule while reducing off-axis noise, which is why this style of mic is marketed to YouTubers, vloggers, and news-gathering shooters who want clearer voice audio than a camera's built-in mic typically delivers. The Amazon listing carries a 3.9-star rating across 91 ratings, suggesting mixed-to-positive owner feedback. The page also lists a one-year warranty and secure-transaction messaging.

Reasons to consider

• A branded JBL shotgun mic at an advertised ₹1,848 would be notably cheap for this category; the comparison items on the same page, such as the Rode VideoMicro at around ₹6,552 and the JBL CSSG01 at around ₹3,170, sit far higher.
• Wired connection means no batteries or pairing concerns for basic use.
• The directional shotgun form factor is a practical upgrade over in-camera audio for talking-head and vlog footage.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Very low advertised price for a branded shotgun microphone
• Camera and smartphone compatibility broadens who can use it
• Compact shotgun format suits vlogging and on-camera work

Cons

• Currently listed as unavailable/out of stock on Amazon.in, so the advertised price cannot be confirmed
• The claimed 82% off could not be verified against a live selling price or MRP on the page
• Middling 3.9-star rating suggests quality-control or performance concerns worth reading reviews about
• One visible review is captioned "Causiosly buy" (sic), a caution signal to weigh

Buyer fit

This suits budget creators who want a cheap directional mic for a camera or phone and are willing to wait for a restock. If you need a mic immediately, the alternatives surfaced on the same page — the Sony ECM-LV1 lavalier at about ₹1,949, the JBL CSSG01 mini shotgun at about ₹3,170, or the Rode VideoMicro at about ₹6,552 — are currently purchasable options at higher prices.

Final verdict

If the ₹1,848 price returns with stock, this would be a strong value buy for a JBL-branded on-camera shotgun mic. Right now it is a watch-list deal: the product page is real and matches the offer, but the item is unavailable and the price is unverified. Check back on the listing, read the owner reviews carefully, and compare against the Sony ECM-LV1 or JBL CSSG01 before paying more elsewhere.
