Amazon: EVM 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Desktop RAM at ₹1,279

At a glance

Product overview

This is a single 8GB DDR3 desktop memory stick aimed at older PCs that still use DDR3 Long-DIMM slots. The model number listed on the merchant page is EVMT8G1333U86P, and the listing promises compatibility with both Intel and AMD systems. At 1333MHz it is an entry-level DDR3 speed, which makes it better suited to basic upgrades and replacements than to squeezing extra performance from an already modern machine.

The page showed the item in stock, with free delivery and a faster delivery option in the checked location. It is sold by Clicktech Retail Private Ltd and ships from Amazon, which is generally preferable to a marketplace-only fulfilment arrangement for returns handling.

Why consider it

• Simple capacity upgrade: 8GB is a meaningful bump for an ageing desktop stuck on 2GB or 4GB.
• Low entry cost: ₹1,279 is modest for breathing extra life into an older machine.
• Amazon fulfilment: Shipping from Amazon usually simplifies delivery and returns.
• Long stated warranty: The listing advertises a 10-year warranty, unusually generous for budget memory.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Confirmed ₹1,279 selling price on the merchant page
• In stock with free delivery shown
• 8GB capacity is still useful for light desktop workloads
• DDR3 240-pin Long-DIMM suits older Intel and AMD systems
• 10-year warranty listed by the seller

Cons

• DDR3 is legacy memory and only fits older motherboards
• 1333MHz is on the slow side even within DDR3
• 3.9-star rating suggests mixed buyer experiences
• The advertised 87% discount could not be verified against an MRP

Who should buy it

This makes sense if you have an older desktop that accepts DDR3 UDIMM/Long-DIMM memory and want a cheap way to reduce slowdowns in web browsing, office work or light multitasking. Check your motherboard manual first: many DDR3 systems are picky about density and whether they accept 8GB per slot. Do not buy this for a DDR4 or DDR5 machine — it will not fit. If your PC already has 8GB of DDR3, a second 8GB stick for dual-channel operation may help, but confirm a spare slot and matching specifications.

Final verdict

Worth considering if you specifically need DDR3. The verified ₹1,279 price is reasonable for an 8GB stick from an Amazon-fulfilled seller, and the 10-year warranty is attractive on paper. Ignore the headline “87% off” claim — with no confirmed MRP, judge it on the actual price and whether an 8GB DDR3 module is what your system needs.
