Product overview

This is Amazon Basics' take on the classic French press. The headline feature is a 4-level filtration system that combines double stainless steel screens, a spring-loaded base plate, and a top-lid strainer — together designed to keep coffee grounds and tea leaves out of the cup for a smoother brew.

The beaker is made from heat-resistant borosilicate glass, the standard material for French presses since it tolerates boiling water and resists thermal shock better than ordinary glass. At 600ml, it makes roughly two to three cups per brew — a good size for one or two people rather than a full household.

Being an Amazon Basics item, this sits in the budget segment: functional design, no-frills packaging, and a price well below premium brands.

Reasons to consider

• ₹555.22 is a low price for a borosilicate glass French press, well under what premium brands typically charge.
• 4-level filtration is a real feature usually found on pricier models; finer filtration means less sediment in the cup.
• Borosilicate glass handles boiling water safely and doesn't retain flavours.
• Amazon fulfilled means standard Amazon delivery speeds and returns handling.
• Versatile: works for loose-leaf tea and cold-brew-style steeping, not just coffee.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Verified selling price of ₹555.22 for a 600ml French press
• Multi-stage filtration reduces grounds in the cup
• Heat-resistant borosilicate glass beaker
• No coupon or minimum-spend conditions observed
• Amazon fulfilled with normal returns coverage

Cons

• The ₹1,899 MRP and 71% discount are as advertised; a verified MRP was not observed on the live page, so treat the percentage saving as indicative rather than guaranteed
• 600ml is small for brewing for more than two people
• Glass beakers can still break if dropped — budget presses rarely include replacement beakers
• Seller is a third party (RetailEZ Pvt Ltd), though fulfilment is by Amazon

Buyer fit

This suits anyone who wants to try French press coffee or loose-leaf tea without spending much — students, first-time brewers, or someone wanting a second press for the office. If you already own a good press or need 1-litre-plus capacity for a family, this won't add much.

Final verdict

At ₹555.22, verified live on Amazon India, this is a solid buy for anyone in the market for an entry-level French press. The multi-stage filtration and borosilicate glass are good specs for the price point. The headline 71% discount should be read as claimed rather than confirmed, but even ignoring the MRP entirely, this price is competitive for what you get. Worth buying if you need it.
