Product overview

A damper — sometimes called a sponge cup — is a small desktop accessory used to wet fingertips for quick paper counting, cash counting and sorting envelopes or documents. This one is a transparent plastic cup containing a sponge that holds water; you touch the sponge lightly rather than dipping a finger into a liquid. Amazon Basics positions it as made from unbreakable plastic, and the pack of 4 covers multiple desks or workstations.

Reasons to consider

• The ₹139 price for a pack of 4 is inexpensive for office stationery, and Amazon's own brand line is typically the budget option in this category.
• Free delivery is shown on the product page, which matters on a low-priced item where shipping can otherwise exceed the product cost.
• The listing is fulfilled by Amazon, which generally means simpler returns and refunds if the product arrives damaged or unsatisfactory.
• A 4.3 rating, albeit from a modest 84 reviews, is a reasonable signal for a simple utility item.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Low effective cost — around ₹34.75 per cup.
• Transparent body makes it easy to see the sponge and water level.
• Pack of 4 suits offices or multiple desks.
• Amazon-fulfilled, so checkout and returns are straightforward.

Cons

• Dampers are a niche accessory — only useful if you regularly sort cash, paper or envelopes.
• Review count (84) is modest, so the rating is based on a small sample.
• Delivery speed depends on your pin code; the fastest option shown was location-dependent.

Buyer fit

This suits offices, cashiers, stationery buyers and anyone who handles paper or currency frequently. If you only need one cup, buying a pack of 4 still makes sense given the price. Casual users who rarely sort documents will not get much value from it.

Final verdict

The merchant page confirms the ₹139 advertised price, the item is in stock, and this is a straightforward, low-risk purchase for anyone who actually uses a damper. Worth picking up if you need it — the price is fair rather than an exceptional discount, and there is no stated MRP or coupon, so treat it as a good everyday price on a practical desk accessory.
